TEXTBOOKS: Textbooks will be issued to every student. In the event of a lost or stolen book, the replacement cost will be $68.67. A fine will be assessed for any writing in books.
CALCULATORS: A TI-82, 83 or 84 graphing calculator is required for this course. Calculators are available for checkout through the bookroom. Calculators may not be shared during quizzes and tests. NO EXCEPTIONS!! Calculator memories may be cleared by the teacher at any time.
GRAPH PAPER: Purchase graph paper or print from the link on waltonhighschool.org.
HOMEWORK: Homework will be assigned and checked at the discretion of the teacher. Appropriate work is expected to accompany answers. Odd numbered problems must be checked and corrected before coming to class. A loose-leaf notebook is high recommended.
QUIZZES: Announced as well as unannounced quizzes will be given. There will be no make-up quizzes given. All unexcused absences will result in a zero quiz grade. A mandatory cumulative quiz will be given to all students at the end of the semester. This grade will be used to replace any missing quiz grades. Quizzes will cover lecture notes, homework and problems already studied in previous chapters.
TESTS: Tests will be given on Monday or Thursday when possible. Tests may contain up to 30% review material. It is the student’s responsibility to retain information and build on previous concepts. A student who misses the day of the test will be expected to take the test the day they return to school. Any missed test, which is not made up before the next test is given, will automatically receive a grade of zero. Make-up tests are to be arranged with the teacher.
FINAL: A comprehensive final will be given at the end of the semester. Students are required to work the review packet and turn it in on the day of the final.
GRADING: Homework 10% Quizzes 25% Tests 50% Final Exam 15%
It is the student’s responsibility to inform his or her parents on grades and progress in the class. The student is expected to keep the agenda up-to-date at all times. It is also left up to the individual student to seek extra help if needed. Help WEB location
